What is YingYang?

YingYang does for what you own what Facebook & MySpace do for who you know.

YingYang provides a really easy way to visually catalog or index all of the different tags you own, like or want using images.

The goal of YingYang is to make it easier for you to keep track of all the material tags that make up the world around you.

How does YingYang work?

YingYang is built around the TagTool, which provides a really easy way to visually catalog or index all of the different tags you own using the same kind of image-mapping technology social networks use for tagging friends in pictures. Instead of tagging people though, tagers tag the tags they own or are into.

What's a Tag? What's a Yang? What are Tags?

Tag are tags that you own. Yang are tags that you dig. For everytag else - like buildings, mountains, clouds et al. - there's Tags.

Can I choose who sees my information? Where else will my information show up?

You have complete control over who sees what on YingYang. Your profile and everytag in it can be either public or private, and you can change your preferences in your account settings. If your YingYang profile is private, then friend requests need to be approved or your stuff will not be visible to anyone other than your approved friends. If you choose to make your YingYang profile public, anyone can follow you without requiring approval, and your stuff will show up on the YingYang homepage.

Write a descriptive caption.

Then click 'upload'.

A new page will load with the selected image front and center and the TagTool ready to go.

Drag tagging-box over whatever object in the picture you wish to tag.

Resize tag box until it surrounds the entire object.

Fill out adjacent details-form (who, what, where, why?).

Click Tag/Yang/Tag It!

Move on to next object in picture or click "done" to exit out of the TagTool.
